Choosing a Housekeeper for Your Short-Term Rental

When it comes to choosing a housekeeper for your short-term rental, there are a few key things to consider:

1. Experience

Look for a housekeeper who has experience working in short-term rentals or hotels. This will ensure that they are familiar with the unique needs of guests and can provide the level of service that your guests expect.

2. Reviews and Referrals

Check the housekeeper’s reviews and ask for referrals from other short-term rental owners in your area. This will give you an idea of the quality of their work and whether they are reliable and trustworthy.

Keepers allows the host to see the housekeeper’s 5-star rating so you can determine if they are a reliable housekeeper. We encourage all our hosts to leave reviews after each cleaning so we can ensure we are providing the best cleaning service to your guests.

3. Availability

Make sure the housekeeper can work on the days and times that you need them. This is particularly important if you have back-to-back bookings and need the property cleaned and prepared quickly.

As a host, this is probably the most important part of choosing a housekeeper for your short-term rental. Keepers number one priority is to ensure that you never have to stress about searching for a housekeeper again. Thanks to our automation technology that ALWAYS ensures there is a housekeeper for any cleanings.

4. Rates

Compare rates from different housekeepers and consider whether their rates are competitive for the area and the level of service they provide.

While this step is obviously important…it can be extremely time-consuming. Keepers completely eliminates this part of the process for the host. We use a dynamic pricing model to calculate the price of the cleaning job for your listing based on the property specifications.

5. Communication

Choose a housekeeper who communicates clearly and promptly. They should be easy to reach by phone or email, and should be able to accommodate any special requests or changes to the cleaning schedule.

By utilizing our platform, you will have the ability to message the housekeeper at any point in the process. We also have a messaging system in the app that housekeepers can use to contact the host at any time.

Once you have found a housekeeper who meets these criteria, it’s time to put them to the test. Ensure they are meeting guest expectations so you rest assured that your property is in good hands. Set them as your preferred Keeper on our app so they are the first to know of any new reservations you get!
